Help shape the future with us!

About Tiny Mile:

We build robots that make last-mile delivery faster, cheaper and greener.

Tiny Mile robots are designed and custom-built for public sidewalks. Our robots are remotely-piloted and provide a contactless delivery option.

Our team is committed to bringing innovative technologies to local communities safely and reliably.

Since 2020, we've raised $10M in funding from investors who believe Tiny Mile has hit an inflection point. Some of our investors include Animo Ventures, Bedrock, Golden Ventures and Naspers.

Why Tiny Mile exists:

We're solving a real problem.

The transportation sector is among the highest polluters, accounting for 29% of greenhouse gas emissions. Urban last-mile delivery emissions alone are set to increase by 30% by 2030 due to the rise in e-commerce.

Our robots use as much electricity as a lightbulb, are fully electric, and free up congested road space by 'right-sizing' vehicles for local small parcel delivery. Imagine getting medication from your local pharmacy delivered in -20 Celsius weather for less than it costs to fill the prescription.

Transportation has always been the backbone of the economy. Our delivery robots are here to ease trade and foster economic growth. Join us and be part of this uncharted territory!

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to our Head of Product, the UX/UI Designer will work closely with Engineering, Marketing and Product to design assets and people-centred products. Our goal is to make our robot delivery services efficient, effective, accessible and on-brand for all types of users.

As our first in-house UX/UI Designer, you’ll collaborate on products from initial kickoff to launch and through evolutionary updates. You’ll own this function by guiding our design framework, building out UX research methodology, and testing out various ideas in real-world environments.

You’ll have a lot of diversity in your design work. For instance, some of your choices will impact our fleet's appearance and design to ensure our physical products continue to reflect the brand we wish to build. Imagine being able to tell your friends and family that you helped put some of the first robots on sidewalks!

At Tiny Mile, we’re a small but mighty team. We create products, services and tools that drive unparalleled public experiences with our robots, as well as enable our internal team and partners the ability to deliver and grow these experiences. You’ll own the design thinking process that shapes how Tiny Mile approaches design, and how the world experiences Tiny Mile.

The UX/UI Designer will:

  • Work closely with our Head of Product to thoughtfully design each of our products
  • Own and manage the design thinking process for new projects and product updates
  • Develop user stories, personas and storyboards
  • Create flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and detailed visual designs
  • Plan, lead and interpret usability testing
  • Work with our Marketing team on brand development and consistency
  • Create social media assets, print materials and other graphic design work consistent with our brand
  • Lead teammates (as required) to develop consistent and on-brand assets

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI or Product Design
  • Proficiency in Figma and with other industry-standard design and prototyping tools
  • A user-focused approach to design, where the users are a wide range of internal users (pilots and dispatchers), customers and partners, and end users/consumers
  • Comfort and confidence in conducting user research, including internal/external interviews
  • Ability and willingness to develop brand-consistent graphic designs for non-product needs
  • A desire to shape, develop, and manage our design approach, process and resultant assets

Technologies we use:

  • Prototyping: Figma
  • Visual/Graphic Design: Figma (our favourite), Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Collaboration: Notion, Figjam, Google Suite
